It would be hard to find a prettier setting for a workout.
Most mornings, members of the University of Virginia’s women’s rowing team are out on the Rivanna Reservoir, gliding along in long, narrow racing shells. On Tuesday, University photographer Sanjay Suchak joined them, capturing this shot as the sun rose over trees full of fall color.
The women’s rowing team already has two national titles to its name, in 2010 and 2012, and hopes to add a third soon. Since the 2012 title, UVA has been a perennial contender, finishing third once, fifth four times, 10th and 11th in the NCAA championship regattas.
