The Bigger Picture: Streaking (Above) the Lawn

If you were near the University of Virginia’s Lawn shortly after midnight on Tuesday morning, you would have seen the sky light up with lightning and impressive cloud formations as the remnants of Hurricane Florence moved just to the east of Grounds. The storm caused significant rainfall accumulation and flooding in neighboring communities, but those on Grounds were just treated to a different form of streaking as the storm passed by.
